8 Years old and using botox...

I'm going to share a story with you I heard this morning.
In America, a lady is giving her 8 year old daughter botox, she claims it's to get rid of wrinkles and to help her compete in beauty pageants. Doctors are horrified and say that not only does this procedure carry the risk of giving the young girl psychological damage, but there is also the risk that the botox could move and block her throat or breathing muscles.
But, those aren't even the worst things about it, during the interview, when asked how she thinks she looks after the botox she said, "It looks better. Beautiful, pretty."

This nearly made me cry, this young girl has been brought up thinking that wrinkles are ugly and that she isn't good enough or beautiful without the botox. She's only 8! She should be playing with friends, not caring how she looks, and being told she is beautiful. Not being injected with a poison and told that Botox is what makes her pretty.

Please girls, I know I've said it time and time again, but you are beautiful. Check out two of my many favourite quotes:
  • Genesis 1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
  • Psalm 139:14: I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
You don't need injections to be beautiful, you are beautiful as you are. Enjoy being young while you can and don't be tied down by constantly trying to fit the worlds definition of beautiful. Please.

Agreed! I watched the video talking about it from True-Blue Abby, and it was sickening.

I heard about this as well and it makes me SO sick. I feel horrible for the little girl, and I am assuming the mother of the girl grew up being told she was ugly or not good enough, and now she is blind and doing the same to her daughter. So sad.

Thanks for the comments- make me all excited every time I see I have some!
Yeah I was horrified, It's so sad that someone would do that to their own child. Children should be loved and supported- not told that their natural beauty isn't good enough! xx

Oh dear that is terribly sad. Where has the innocence gone?
I just spoke to a little girl who is 5, and asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up. She said she wants to be in control of everything except trees and plants. I was like.....what?! I fully expect a 5 yearold girl to say a ballerina, not God. Oy.
Anyway, thanks for posting this. Have a wonderful day!!! xxxx!Kelsey
