Gold Stars for Worrying

Today I have been drinking obscene amounts of tea. Obscene I tell you. I have an awful feeling I'm coming down with the sniffles- that or my asthma's just playing up. So hence the many, many, many cups of tea I have consumed. I think it was mint tea. Or Green-and-Grapefruit tea. I dunno, they were in the same pot- so they've all shared their flavours. Just so you know.

Life can get a little hectic no? I have mocks to be revising for and a portfolio to be building as well as many other not-quite-so-important but equally annoying things! Ooooohhh crumpets! Thank you Daddy. Anyways.
It can be very hard to find time to just switch off, sometimes we feel we need to be alert all the time, buzzing and ready to jump. But it's important you give yourself time to relax, to just sit back and rewind. To ignore the stupid little things you worry about, and to just be with God.

Matthew 6:34

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

This is one of my all time favourite bible verses. Because I need to remember it! I'm a terrible worrier- as I probably have mentioned before. I can sit there and just worry about big things, small things, things that are far far away in the future, things that don't concern me personally, ridiculous things. Yep, if worrying was in the olympics- I'd get gold. So sometimes, I have to remember this quote and tell myself Stop worrying- God has got it covered. Because He is bigger than whatever it is that's bothering you. We don't need to be at the steering wheel all the time.

Psalm 55:22

New International Version (NIV)

 22 Cast your cares on the LORD

   and he will sustain you;
he will never let
   the righteous be shaken.

So stop worrying, and find time to be with God, because He is always there.

A great song for this is Come To Me, beautiful song- I really recommend it!
